Warning Date: 4:04 PM EST on March 10, 2010
WarningSum:
Warning Message:The Flood Warning continues for
the Big Creek near Alpharetta.
* Until Saturday morning.
* At 3 PM Wednesday the stage was 7.5 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 7 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 9.6 feet by early Friday
morning. The river will fall below flood stage early Saturday
morning.
* At 10 feet...moderate flooding begins. Flooding of yards begin
along the creek between Cumming in Forsyth County through
Alpharetta and Roswell in north Fulton County. The water reaches
the bottom of the bridge on Kimball bridge Road. Further downstream
in Roswell...where the creek merges with the Chattahoochee River...
minor flooding continues to expand into the Parks west and east of
Georgia Highway 9 and along Azalea drive and Riverside Road.

Warning Message:The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of north central Georgia...northeast Georgia and
northwest Georgia.
* Through Thursday morning
* strong southerly flow will continue to bring moisture across
Georgia. Several upper air impulses will move across the
state...providing the dynamics for heavy rainfall.
* Widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain has already occurred in an area
from Rome to gainesvile to Barnesville to Columbus. 3 to 4 inches
has been reported over Polk County south to Buchanan in Haralson
County. Additional rainfall amounts around an inch can be
expected through tonight.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
